Mr. Goodfellow surpasses $15K

Posted

The Mr. Goodfellow fund has reached $15,095, surpassing its 2025 goal of $15,000.

Subscriber and 1969 Storm Lake High School graduate Jerry Jenkins put the fund over the top with a check for $500 Dec. 29. That’s on top of a $1,200 donation by Jenkins and friends “Jensen, Johnson and Rohde” printed in the Dec. 5 Times Pilot.

All proceeds of the Mr. Goodfellow fund go to purchase coats, hats, gloves, snow pants and boots for Buena Vista County children who cannot otherwise afford them.

“It’s a well established program and it’s kind of a no-brainer,” Jenkins told the Times Pilot regarding his generosity to Mr. Goodfellow. “It’s been around for 100 years and it’s a charity you can trust.”

Jenkins himself probably isn’t wearing a coat today. He lives outside Fort Worth, Texas where temperatures will be in the 70s.
