Watch ‘Storm Lake’ free in October

Posted

PBS will re-stream the documentary “Storm Lake” free of charge throughout the month of October. The 2021 film traces the story of The Storm Lake Times newspaper and explores whether American democracy can survive without independent local journalism. You’ll see local faces and places in this documentary directed by New Yorkers Beth Levison and Jerry Risius.

Free streaming runs Oct. 2-31 and Passport streaming runs through Nov. 14.

To watch Storm Lake on your computer, go to https://www.pbs.org and search the title.

To watch the film on a TV, phone or tablet, you’ll need to download the PBS app. On a TV, that means downloading the app on Roku, Apple TV or your smart TV interface. Once you’re in the PBS app, look for the Independent Lens title, or search for “Storm Lake.”
