Tom Miller

Tom Miller, 64, of Alta died Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2026 in Omaha, Neb.

Memorial services will take place Monday, Aug. 17, at 1 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Schaller. Burial will be in Schaller Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday, Aug. 16, from 5-8 p.m. at Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Schaller.

Thomas Dean Miller was born on May 16, 1962, in Storm Lake, the son of Donald and Arlene (Lansink) Miller. As an infant, he was baptized at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Schaller, where he was later confirmed.

Tom grew up in Schaller and attended school there, graduating from Schaller High School in 1980.

On April 4, 1994, Tom was united in marriage to Lorrie Leask. Together, they were blessed with three children: Sarah, Samuel and Shelby. The couple later divorced.

Tom worked at Remington Seed in Schaller and also worked as a farmhand. He especially enjoyed working on the farm and the many rewards that came with it.

Tom was a longtime member of the Schaller Jaycees. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, playing Bingo, visiting the casino and playing cards. Most of all, Tom cherished the time he spent with his family and friends and the memories they made together.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children: Sarah (Anthony) Rodriquez of Story City; and Shelby Miller of Grand Island, Neb.; grandchildren: Ryder, Noah and Vera Rodriquez of Story City; brothers, Larry (Laurie) Miller of Storm Lake; Terry Miller of Schaller; sister Luanne Roling of Storm Lake; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Arlene Miller; son Samuel Miller; and niece Justine Miller.
