Steven Craig Lenz, 74, of Storm Lake died Aug. 11, 2025, at Good Samaritan Center in Algona.
Private family services will take place at a later date in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Early. Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
Steven was born on Dec. 10, 1950, to John and Maxine (Rukes) Lenz. He attended school at Sacred Heart Catholic School in Early and graduated from Crestland High School in Early. He went on to attend Mankato State University and later graduated from Buena Vista University.
Steven worked retail sales for many years including managing Sernett Stores in Algona and Storm Lake. He was employed as a sales representative for Silk Screen Ink for many years until his retirement. In his free time, Steven enjoyed working on the acreage where he lived and being outdoors.
On Oct. 1, 2021, Steven suffered a life altering stroke that he never recovered from. He struggled with his infirmity and going to dialysis three times a week. On Dec. 24, 2023, he had another stroke and was in the care of Good Samaritan Center in Algona until he passed peacefully on Aug. 11, 2025. Steven will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Maxine Lenz; brother Bob Lenz; sister Sharon Wunschel; and nephews, Mark Lenz and TJ Wunschel.
Steven is survived by his brother Mike Lenz of Newell; and many nieces, nephews and their children.
