St. Mary’s Homecoming

Celebrating with dress up days, class competitions and more

Posted

St. Mary’s Homecoming week begins Jan. 19, as it celebrates its annual festivities during basketball season. The overall theme of the week is “Home Sweet Homecoming.”

Dress up days for the high school will vary, including the following:

• Monday has a “Home” theme that is unique for each grade level.  Freshman are “Home Run” with a baseball theme.  Sophomores are “Home of the Brave” with a USA theme.  Juniors are “Home for the Holidays” with a Christmas theme, and seniors are “There’s No Place Like Home” with a Wizard of Oz theme.

• Tuesday is “Mathletes vs. Athletes”

•  Wednesday is “Dress like the 1st Letter of Your Name”

• Thursday is “Chillin’ with my Homies” (meaning duo/ group day)

• Friday is “Extreme Spirit” day. Because St. Mary’s is a PK-12 school, there is an assortment of dress-up days for elementary and middle school as well, as the whole school family cheers on the high school for homecoming.

During homecoming week, high school students will participate in a variety of “class of the year” competitions, a door decorating competition, lip sync performances, a whole-school pep rally and more.

Coronation will take place at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 22, in St. Mary’s School Gymnasium and all are welcome to attend.

The homecoming game is set for Friday, Jan. 23, against Manson Northwest Webster Community School District. Come cheer on the Panthers in the Panther Pit starting at 6 p.m. that night.
