PetRock returning to headline Star Spangled Spectacular entertainment

Posted

The Star Spangled Spectacular is bringing back a crowd favorite for its milestone year. PetRock Band will return to Storm Lake on July 3, to headline an evening of live music and celebration as part of the 250th anniversary festivities.

After delivering an unforgettable, high-energy performance in 2025, PetRock Band quickly became a must-have act for this year’s lineup.

“We’re excited to welcome PetRock back for this year’s celebration. They absolutely brought the energy last year — from the first song to the last, the crowd was fully into it. It honestly felt like an encore was deserved, and that kind of response made the decision easy for us,” said Tyler Aube, Commodore for the Star Spangled Spectacular.

Known for their dynamic stage presence, engaging crowd interaction, and wide-ranging set list featuring hits across multiple decades, PetRock has built a reputation as one of the Midwest’s premier live entertainment acts. Their return promises another electric night filled with music, dancing, and community spirit.

“With this being the 250th celebration, we wanted a band that could match that level of excitement and help create a memorable night,” said Deidre Aube, Commodore. “We’re expecting a great crowd, lots of returning faces who experienced it last year, plus new people coming out to be part of something special. It’s shaping up to be a high-energy, can’t-miss night.”

The Star Spangled Spectacular, held annually in Storm Lake, is a two-day celebration on July 3 and 4 featuring live entertainment, food vendors, family-friendly activities, and one of the region’s most anticipated fireworks displays.

PetRock Band will take the stage at 7 p.m. on Friday, July 3, delivering one of the evening’s biggest highlights. Community members and visitors are encouraged to bring a lawn chair, relax, and enjoy a night of great music and celebration.

Festivities begin earlier in the evening, with the welcome and patriotic ceremony followed by the Storm Lake Municipal Band starting at 5:30 p.m. The Commodores invite attendees to come early, grab food from vendors, and settle in for the full evening of entertainment — even bringing a cooler to enjoy during the concert, which will wrap up around 10 p.m.

Family-friendly fun will be a major part of the night, featuring favorites like the Classic Car Cruise, Kiddie Parade, balloon art, a spectacular circus, airbrush tattoos and face painting happening throughout the evening.
