Patrick David Wood, born March 11, 1955, in Anchorage, Alaska, passed away on June 16, 2026, at his home in Garland, Texas. He was 71 years old.
Patrick was born into a military family and grew up in the USA and Germany. He graduated from Park Hill High School in Parkville, Mo., and then continued his education at St. Benedicts College in Atchinson, Kan. While in college he started working for Mellow Dent/PSA Seeds in Storm Lake, and he worked for a number of years. A few years later he found his way down to Texas and eventually worked as a Senior Program Analyst (immigration) for the Department of Labor. These were some of his best times. He enjoyed the work and the people he worked with.
Patrick is survived by his mother Arlen Mae (Galegor) Krueg; two sons, Alexander David Wood and Jacob Patrick Wood; two sisters, Kathleen Ann Wood (Randy Epperson) and Yvonne Arlene Wood; and two brothers, John Arlen Wood (Lynette Jean (Sorrell) Wood and Norman Michael Wood (Sue Wood).
Patrick enjoyed many activities. He was always ready to lend a hand to his family and neighbors and was a spirit to be reckoned with. He found great pleasure in his house and a lot of recent remodeling. He also enjoyed his swimming pool and could often be found working in the back, cleaning his pool and making it a fun spot for his guests. Even at work he was always there with that smile, even in the worst of times. He was always up for a good joke.
Those who knew Patrick consider themselves fortunate. He lived a life defined by faith, family, hard work, service and generosity. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered and never forgotten.
We will be holding a Celebration of Life service for Patrick D. Wood on Saturday, July 11, at noon. This service will be at Big Springs Baptist Church, 6538 N. Jupiter Road, Garland, TX 75044.
