Letters to the Editor: Oh! The humanity!

Posted

“Never let a hyperbolic crisis go to waste,” said a clever Chicago pol.

A few weeks ago, it was the Hindenburg. And now it’s millions dead!

The Hindenburg and mass starvation? Really, Cullen?

What Editorial AI model are you using? It appears to be hallucinating quite a bit.

It’s been 90 years since Herbert Morrison lost his emotions on the radio and cried, hyperventilated, and blubbered when 35 souls fell or burned to death at the Hindenburg disaster. Somewhat legitimate, as he likely really smelled the hair on fire.  That is now a J-School case study on how not to present front-facing professionalism. Forgive my calculated idiom abuse, but you started it.

Generations of live video has desensitized all of us after the Vietnam War, 9-11, and beyond.

Perhaps you could review some of your old class material, as the Journalist Drama Queen is getting a bit tired, along with the editorials of digital rectal exams.

Through five and a half years of the Trump Administration, even with your paper’s storied Trump Derangement/Disappointment Syndrome, we have not had anything close to a Hindenburg disaster. With a bit less than three years remaining, we have time, I suppose.

We did get a slow-motion genetically engineered PsyOp emanating from Wuhan, China, bought and paid for by Peter Daszak, Fauci, and other deranged off-shore scientists who have never been held fully accountable. The money was actually laundered through those civil society NGOs that USAID bankrolls-the quintessence of the self-licking ice cream cone.

Informed Consent went out the window with Operation Warp Speed, executed under Joe Biden.

What’s that got to do with Iowa? We should ALL ask.

Where are all of those ICE raids in Storm Lake/BV County, Cullen?

So you like Rob Sand. You see a Boy Scout out of Central Casting. I see a crossdressing Abigail Spanberger posing as a centrist. Spook Spanberger lied as a career in the CIA, and the first thing she did in office was go after Virginia’s guns.  Be very careful what you vote for, Iowa.

You mention the success of the “No Kings” rallies. I see barely one percent of the population participating in such activities, the most visible being… geriatric old bags with bright, blue hair and complicated glasses.

Back in the 1960s, my late mother used to invoke the hungry untouchables in India who were starving because we children would not clean our plates. The Depression and its attendant frugalities were merely a generation before.

People frequently die in Ethiopia. They are at the wrong end of the supply chain, having non-arable land that will not support the population. Paul Erlich was WRONG in the population bomb, but he got extremely rich writing it. It’s five o’clock with no food to eat, somewhere, I suppose.

Just who is starving in Ethiopia, Cullen?  With three million of them alleged, could you say just one of their names? Don’t feel embarrassed, neither could my Mom.

For once, I would like to see a No Drama Queens Rally! I might even join, getting off my chair of apathy if you could successfully demonstrate that the salient issue was not the local city-county W2 grifters, and, instead, YOUR globalist concerns.

Wyatt Yon, Storm Lake

You voted for it, now you got it

President Trump does not care about fissures in the GOP like from the Iran War, virtually automatic military support for Israel, threats to oust Federal Reserve Chair Powell, the Epstein files, loving monarchy, aggression against Disney, high gas prices, Christian nationalism, outrageous deficit spending, betraying America First, Trump’s Armageddon war budget.

The only MAGA party member who counts is Donald J. Trump. If he wants it, his cronies put it in motion the moment he gives the signal. That’s what autocracy is all about, folks. You voted for it, now you got it.

Kimball Shinkoskey, Woods Cross, Utah

Failure to act

Watching the deteriorating mental health of our current president is saddening. Watching the failure of Iowa’s congressional delegation — senators and representatives — to acknowledge and address this matter is worse. It’s frightening.
