Kathleen Goodman, 72, of Storm Lake died Saturday, Oct. 26, 2024, at Sanford Health Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D.

Celebration of Life services will take place Sunday, Nov. 10, from 2-4 p.m. with prayer service at 4 p.m. at Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake.

Kathleen Grace Wollesen was born Sept. 15, 1952, to Lavern and Phyllis (Werkmeister) Wollesen in Carroll. She was baptized and confirmed at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Lake View. She later was a member of the All Saints Episcopal Church in Storm Lake. Kathleen attended Lake View-Auburn School, graduating in 1970. She went on to study business at DMACC.

On Oct. 20, 1993, Kathleen was united in marriage to Jerrold Paul Goodman at All Saints Episcopal Church.

Kathleen was passionate in supporting the fight against cancer after losing her mother and was a member of the Relay for Life committee. She was active in CASA for children. Kathleen was creative and loved crafting and doing DIY’s. She enjoyed putting together floral arrangements, making jewelry with her sister and cooking for the holidays. She was known for shopping and finding good deals. Kathleen also enjoyed shooting pool and drinking tomato beer. She loved driving around the lake enjoying an ice cream cone in Lake View where she grew up or with her son, Josh, in Clermont, Fla. Kathleen looked forward to getting her nails done with her daughter, Kasey, and collecting crystals with her most favorite being the amethyst. More than anything, Kathleen treasured time with her family. She was honored to have her first granddaughter named after her. She loved attending her grandchildren’s events and activities. Kathleen will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. 

Kathleen is survived by her children: Josh (Monica) Fischer of Storm Lake; Kasey (Justin) Goodman-Jepson of Storm Lake; brother-in-law Joel Scott of Lake View; sister-in-law Jeanne (Jamie) Goodman Horton of Middleburg, Fla.; grandchildren: Aneissa Yahola-Jepson, Danielle Jepson, Quintin Jepson, Austin Jepson and Blake Jepson of Storm Lake; nephew Michael Goodman Jr. of Emmetsburg; niece Kim (Jason) Younger of Sunset, Texas; and great-nieces: Shelby (Terence) Hardison; Michelle Goodman and Melody (Ethan) Thompson.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jerrold Goodman; parents, Lavern and Phyllis Woilesen; sisters, Cynthia Wollesen and Kelly (Wollesen) Scott; grandparents: William “Bill” and Grace Burtchard; Edward and Elizabeth Wollesen.
