Judith Krout

Judith Krout, 89, of Laurens, formerly of Lakeside, died April 8, 2026, in Laurens surrounded by her loving family.

Graveside services will take place Saturday, April 18, at 1 p.m. at Storm Lake Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed in Judith's name to Laurens Care Center, 304 E Veterans Rd, Laurens, IA 50554. Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.

Judy Krout was born Oct. 12, 1936, to Harry and Thelma Cash in Fertile. Judy attended Laurens High School, graduating in 1954.

On June 16, 1955, Judy was united in marriage to Richard Krout. To this union two children were born, Terri and Jim.

Dick and Judy settled and built a new home in Lakeside. She was a lifelong waitress, first at Cobblestone, then Ken-A-Bob, finishing at Lake Pointe Villa.

Family meant everything to Judy. Dick and Judy enjoyed many trips to Colorado to visit her sister and brother-in-law. They also loved to go fishing in Minnesota and anything with the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents; husband Dick; sister Jerry Hartwell; and parents-in-law, Bud and Bessie Krout.

Judy is survived by her children: Terri (Mark) Rebhuhn and Jim Krout; grandchildren, Holly Boyd and Michaela (Nick) Simmons; great-grandson Trey Boyd; and sister Joyce (Roger) Polfer.
