Harmony at Dusk creates an opportunity for Buena Vista University students to collaborate with Witter Gallery to bring together live music, an interactive video experience and hands-on creativity. The event is scheduled for Friday, April 24, from 7-9 pm.
The Buena Vista University Rock Ensemble will perform at the beginning of the event. The rock ensemble is a group of BVU students, under the direction of Aaron Eastwood, Assistant Professor of Music Production, that play classic hits with live performances throughout the year. The ensemble will entertain while guests participate in interactive art activities set up throughout Harmony Gardens.
Harmony at Dusk will feature the short film, “Visual Sound,” which is a video that has been produced by students in the Advanced Video class of BVU. The “Visual Sound” video will give children the chance to play sounds from the Harmony Gardens and immerse themselves as part of the performance in a one-of-a-kind interactive finale.
This collaboration supports Buena Vista University’s motto, “Education for Service” by allowing students the opportunity for real-world experience while contributing their skills to a community arts event for the public.
An art demonstration will also be given by April Mason, local artist and Witter Gallery board member. The final piece will be a part of the Wingspan Raffle during Harmony at Dusk.
