Ginny Lewis

Virginia “Ginny” Lewis, 93, of Storm Lake died May 13, 2026, at Methodist Manor Retirement Community in Storm Lake.

Memorial services were held Friday, May 22, at Grace Lutheran Church in Storm Lake. Burial was in Buena Vista Memorial Park Cemetery in Storm Lake. Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake was in charge of the arrangements.

Ginny was the daughter of William and Mildred (Patton) Merry of Cherokee.

Ginny graduated from Albert City High School in 1951. Upon graduation she worked as a secretary at Twin Drawlics Manufacturing at Laurens. Later she worked at various banks in the area and then as a secretary at Newell Public Schools.

Ginny married Carl Lewis in Storm Lake and became the mother to Sabrina, Shelly and Sandra. Ginny helped Carl with his cleaning business and later worked at Ben Franklin Store for 16 years.

Carl and Ginny loved camping and made many lasting friends. She loved to quilt and made quilts for most of her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Carl Lewis; parents; parents-in-law; and two brothers, Wendall and Lowell Merry.

She leaves to be mourned by her three daughters: Sabrina (Kenny) Moore, Shelly (Brian Wurzer) Tanner and Sandra (Don) Kelley; nine grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; sisters, Billie Melohn and Jean Sievers.
