Fun and food in Early

Be sure to patronize food and drink vendors in Early this weekend. Noy’s Kitchen will serve Friday from 5-8 p.m. Lucky Wife Wine Slushies will begin serving at 10 a.m. Saturday and Mexilao will begin serving at 10:45 a.m. Walking tacos will be under the tent Saturday evening, served by Early FOCUS.

Mid-July means time for Early Crossroads Days. Featured this weekend are two days of entertainment for the family. Friday kicks off with a bags tournament, Bingo, new this year is a kids parade and head to the Early ball field to catch “The Sandlot” screening at 7:30 p.m.

Saturday begins with the Butcher Shoppe Car Show registration, Big Parade featuring the Abu Bekr Rat Patrol and vendors will set up downtown. Friends of the Library will hold a cake walk and free face painting for kids. Don’t miss the water fights, cow pie Bingo and the evening ends with a walking taco and a beer garden with Cotton Creek Entertainment under the big tent.

FRIDAY, JULY 18

6 p.m. Early FOCUS Bag tournament begins on Main Street. Registration at 5:30 p.m. $20 per team to play with cash prize to top place winners.
5-8 p.m. Bingo held at Schaller-Crestland Rec, downstairs.
5-8 p.m. Noy’s Kitchen serving.
6:30 p.m. Kids Parade, registration at 6 p.m. at the Early Fire Station.
7:30 p.m. Free kids movie, showing “The Sandlot” on the Early ball field.

SATURDAY, JULY 19

8 a.m. Rosie’s Coffee Shop serving.
8:30 a.m. Big Parade registration opens. Line up at Ridge View Middle School.
9 a.m.-12 p.m. Butcher Shoppe Car Show registration (contact Butcher Shoppe, 515-460-3533).
10 a.m. Big Parade, featuring Abu Bekr Rat Patrol.
10 a.m.-1 p.m. Vendor fair by Friends of the Library.
10 a.m. Lucky Wife Wine Slushies, set up downtown.
10:45 a.m. Mexilao, drink vendor set up downtown.
11 a.m.-1 p.m. Noon meal, free-will donation, by Friends of the Library.
11 a.m.-1 p.m. Face painting and Cake Walk, by Friends of the Library, held on Main Street under the big tent. Cake donations can be dropped off from 8-10 a.m. at the Center.
12:30 p.m. Kids water fights, Early Fire Department.
2 p.m. Water fights, Early Fire Department.
2 p.m. Butcher Shoppe Car Show awards.
5 p.m. Cow Pie Bingo, winner wait and watch, Early Fire Department. Squares are $10 each, contact Tim Langner at 712-660-5110.
5-7 p.m. Early FOCUS serving walking tacos under the tent.
8 p.m.-Midnight, Early Legion beer garden with music by Cotton Creek Entertainment DJ.
