Food and fun in Early Friday and Saturday

Mid-July means it’s time to head to Early for Crossroads Days. Featured this weekend are two days of fun. Friday kicks off with a bags tournament, Bingo and the kids parade.

Saturday begins with the Butcher Shoppe Car Show and Big Parade featuring the Abu Bekr Rat Patrol. Friends of the Library will serve a free-will donation lunch, hold a cake walk and free face painting for kids. Don’t miss the water fights, cow pie Bingo and in the evening, walking tacos and a beer garden with Cotton Creek Entertainment under the big tent.

FRIDAY, JULY 17

  • 5-8 p.m. Bingo hosted by Schaller-Crestland Rec in the basement of City Hall.
  • 5-8 p.m. Noy’s Kitchen serving downtown.
  • 5:30 p.m. Registration for Bags Tournament. $20 per team to play with a cash prize to the top place winners. Pre-register by contacting Timothy Langner at 712-660-5110. Tournament begins at 6 p.m.
  • 6:30 p.m. Kids Parade down Second Street in front of the big tent. Registration at 6 p.m. at Citizens Bank.
  • 6-10 p.m. DJ Pete & Repeate

SATURDAY, JULY 18

  • 8 a.m. Sunrise Coffee Shop serving.
  • 8:30 a.m. Big Parade registration, line up at Ridge View Middle School parking lot.
  • 9 a.m.-noon, Butcher Shoppe Car Show registration. Located at 202 N. Main St. Registration is $10 the day of show. Also featuring kids games and color contest.
  • 10 a.m. Big Parade featuring Abu Bekr Rat Patrol.
  • 10 a.m. Mexilao, Lucky Wife Wine Slushies serving.
  • 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Friends of the Library Fundraiser: Serving a free-will donation meal (pulled pork sandwiches, chips, cookies/bars and water), cake walk and free face painting, under the big tent on Main Street.
  • 12:30 p.m. Kids Water Fights.
  • 2 p.m. Adult Water Fights, sign up at 1 p.m.
  • 2 p.m. Butcher Shoppe Car Show Awards announced at 2 p.m.
  • 5 p.m. Cow Pie Bingo (Winner Wait & Watch, Early Fire Dept.)
  • 5-7 p.m. Evening Meal by Early FOCUS. Walking tacos or nachos, cookie and drink for a free-will donation.
  • 8 p.m.-midnight, Early Legion Beer Garden with Cotton Creek Entertainment DJ.
