Emergency sewer repair on Lake Avenue

Emergency sewer service line repairs are being made today to the west side of the building at 505 Lake Avenue in downtown Storm Lake.

Repairs involve replacement of collapsed sewer line under the street. Lake Avenue northbound traffic lanes adjacent to 505 Lake Ave will be closed until the street is repaired. Sewer repairs are expected to be completed today (Thursday, Jan. 2), with the impacted area of street to be repoured on Friday, Jan. 3 if possible. Street reopening will depend on concrete cure time.

City workers are installing barricades, and northbound traffic on Lake will be diverted around the work area. The southbound lanes of Lake Avenue will remain open in the 500 block.
