A train derailment occurred Friday, Nov. 21, at around 10:30 a.m. on the Canadian National Railway immediately east of Alta. According to CN, six cars derailed in various positions while servicing a customer and moving toward an elevator. Grain spilled from some of the cars. There were no reported injuries, fires or dangerous materials as a result of this incident. The cause of the derailment remains under investigation
