Fun is on tap this weekend as Schaller Pop Corn Days returns with events Friday through Sunday. As always, there will be free popcorn. McDermott Family Shows Carnival Rides and Concessions will be set up in downtown Schaller both Friday and Saturday. Saturday city park entertainment includes Special K’z and Nickels P. Noodleman, caricature drawings and a creatively decorated wooden chair display.
Schaller Jaycees will host a beer garden Friday night with DJ Repete and a bags tournament and Saturday with its Shoot to Thrill concert.
Friday, July 10
4:30-8 p.m. Presbyterian Church sponsored food stand
6:30 p.m. Water Fights in front of AgState, sponsored by Schaller Fire Department
6:30-9 p.m. Chamber ticket stand open. Purchase your tickets for a chance to win two $500 prizes. Need not be present to win.
7 p.m. Kid’s Pedal Pull by Northwestern Station
7 p.m. Schaller Jaycees beer garden opens with free admission, featuring DJ Repete.Also arrive at 7 p.m. to register for the bags tournament. Cost is $20 per team and features a cash prize for the winning team.
Saturday, July 11
8 a.m. 5K Fun Run/Walk, sponsored by Jaycees. Registration is from 7-7:45 a.m. and cost is $10 per person. All ages, strollers and dogs welcome. Featuring adult, child and grand prizes.
9 a.m.-noon, registration for the Gene Huelman Memorial Tractor Show. Show and awards from noon-3:15 p.m. at the south end of Schaller City Park. Entry is $20 per tractor with proceeds going to the Schaller Shamrocks 4-H Club
9 a.m.-3 p.m. Craft show in Schaller City Park
9 a.m.-3 p.m. Car Show in Schaller City Park. Registration is from 9 a.m. to noon with a $15 fee
10 a.m. Big Float Parade
11 a.m. Noon meal in city park, sponsored by Schaller Fire Department
