Buena Vista County Conservation is excited to offer a new Biome Exploration Series this summer, inviting youth to discover the incredible variety of ecosystems found around the world. Each week will highlight a different biome through hands-on activities, outdoor exploration, science experiments and creative projects.
Participants will learn how plants and animals survive in unique environments — from oceans and rainforests to deserts, grasslands and even the icy extremes of Antarctica. The series is designed to spark curiosity, build ecological understanding and connect students with the natural world in memorable, meaningful ways.
Join us on Wednesday, July 1, from 10 a.m.-noon at Storm Lake Marina to learn about the world hidden beneath our feet while digging into the soil biome. This program is geared towards elementary-aged students, but younger children are welcome to attend with a parent.
Weekly themes, age groups and registration information is available online at https://www.mycountyparks.com/Event/Default and selecting Buena Vista County.
Registration for this program is due Tuesday, June 30. For more information, please call 712-295-7985.
