Nature Sprouts is for children ages 0 to five years. It is held once a month, May through October, at the Storm Lake Marina. Each month will be a new theme and will have story, crafts, snacks and hands-on activities to fit the theme.
The next Nature Sprouts will be on Tuesday, Aug. 18 at 10 a.m. Meet at the Storm Lake Marina patio, located at 207 W. Marina Road in Storm Lake. The theme for August is Caterpillars.
Nature Sprouts is free of charge. Registration is required by Friday, Aug. 14 by 4 p.m. To register, please use the QR code.
Enjoy a beautiful morning at Gabrielson Park. Bring a mat or blanket to learn all about turtles and do some gentle stretching and movement. The live education turtles will be there, too.
The program will begin at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 20. It will be held at Gabrielson Park, near the Gustaf-son Lake beach area south of Sioux Rapids on Hwy. 71. Please park in the lower parking lot.

Summer is the perfect time to create your own indoor mini-garden. The naturalists will help you up-cycle or recycle an old vase, pot or terrarium into a living succulent garden. Join the fun at the Storm Lake Marina on Thursday, Aug. 20 at 7 p.m. with your own container to receive a lesson in trendy succulent gardening.
You will receive the specialty potting soil needed for succulents, decorations and three plants. The cost for the class is $10 to help cover the cost of supplies. Please bring cash or check and your own container.
Class size is limited, so make your reservation as soon as possible. Reservations will close on Tuesday, Aug. 18 at 4 p.m. To register follow the QR code.
