Art in the Origins

Posted

“Art in the Origins” at Witter Gallery features large-scale oil paintings by talented Cuban-born local artist Eduardo Alejandro Garcia Rodriguez.

Readers may remember Garcia’s exhibit last year, plus his first place finish in the Witter Gallery’s Art Crawl and Brawl last fall. All the works in the current show were produced this year, said Cindy Barahona Roth of Witter Gallery, indicating just how prolific this artist has become.

In a departure from last year’s display, Garcia has used a spatula (pallet knife) in an impasto impressionist style. His subject matter ranges from Western and Native American themes to cityscapes. Most of the artwork is for sale.

An artist's reception is planned for Aug. 16, at 5 p.m., the final day of the exhibit. This show is sponsored by Synergy Gallery.
