Like many Iowans, Scott Louis Sievers’ Iowa roots ran deep. Born to Myron and Jane Sievers on Feb. 4, 1957, Scott’s early years were spent on the family farm south of Albert City. He was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in rural Storm Lake. After attending Zion Lutheran Elementary and graduating from Albert City-Truesdale High School in 1975, Scott pursued his passion for agriculture at Iowa Lakes Community College, earning a degree in farm management.

On Feb. 11, 1978, Scott married Judy Jensen, and the couple settled on an acreage just around the corner from his childhood home. Their family quickly grew with the arrival of three children: Brad, Jill and Steven. Scott's life took an exciting turn when he and Judy started Scott Sievers Trucking, a venture that would prove successful for many years and is being carried on by his son, Steven.

Beyond his work, Scott was a man who knew how to enjoy life’s simple pleasures. An avid outdoorsman, he found joy in hunting and fishing, eventually fulfilling a dream by moving to the lake where he could cast a line right from his own dock. Scott was equally at home on the golf course or gathered around the table for a spirited game of Sheepshead after a big family meal.

While Scott has been reunited with his wife Judy, infant grandson Nash, parents Myron and Jane Sievers, and father-in-law Lee Jensen in eternal rest, his legacy lives on through his children: Brad (Tracy) Sievers of Plano, Texas; Jill (Eric) Miller of Springdale, Ark.; and Steven (Emily) Sievers of Albert City. He took great pride in his nine grandchildren: Tate, Cade, Colton, Knox, Jensen, Brady, Emmett, Eliana and Nolan.

Scott is fondly remembered by his mother-in-law Shirley Hatelid; siblings: Debbie (Tom) Witt, Todd (Laura) Sievers and Trent (Jill) Sievers; as well as his in-laws: Laurie (Russ) Allen, Diane (Rob) Bonnestetter and Barry (Lucy) Jensen; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family members.
