Funeral services for Sally Caboth, 88, of Alta, will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 17, 2022 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Alta, with Pastor Christopher Harrison officiating. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the service time at the church. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, rural Alta. Redig Funeral Home in Aurelia is in charge of arrangements.
Sally Joan Marie Hetrick was born Jan. 29, 1934 at Alta, the daughter of Orie L. and Marvel (Madsen) Hetrick, Sr. She attended school there and graduated from Alta High School in 1952. On June 1, 1952, Sally married Donald Christian Caboth at the Presbyterian Church in Alta.
Sally worked at the café, helped with the farming, and worked at the Storm Lake Greenhouse, which later became Joyce’s, for a number of years. She retired in 1985. Sally loved to sew, and go fishing, camping and traveling. She was member of Lutheran Ladies Aide and Farm Country Club.
Sally died Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2022 at Holstein Senior Living.
Preceding Sally in death were her parents; brother Orie L. Hetrick, Jr.; two sisters: Jane Breyfogle and Susan Friedrich; and two brothers-in-law: Milton Caboth and Lionel Breyfogle.
Survivors include her husband, Don Caboth of Alta; two daughters: Roxane and her husband Jim Dutler of Galva; and Donelle and her husband Terry Olsen of Sioux City; and one son, David Caboth of Alta. Also surviving are five grandchildren: Stephenie and husband Nick Engle; Chad and wife Keely Dutler; Eric and wife Stephanie Dutler; Benjamin and wife Stephanie Olsen; and Kimberly and husband Kyle Zellmer; 12 great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Arliss Friedrich of Alta; one sister-in-law, Darlene Caboth of Alta; and nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
