Becky was born Dec. 16, 1946 in Tilden, Neb., the daughter of LeVern and Leona (Schwager) Wells. As an infant, she was baptized at United Congregational Church in Neleigh, Neb.
Growing up, she attended a country school and graduated in 1965. Following high school graduation, she moved to New York and attended dental assisting school. After completion, she remained in New York working for a dentist for a few years. She then moved back to Omaha, Neb., and worked for an oral surgeon for the next five years. During this time, she met her future husband.
Becky was united in marriage to Darrell Pritchard Jan. 6, 1973, in Omaha, Neb. Together, they were blessed with two sons, Matthew and Ryan.
Becky and Darrell moved to the Storm Lake area in 1975, and later built their house on Lake Street in Alta. Becky worked in registration at Buena Vista Clinic in Storm Lake for 35 years, until her retirement in 2017. She was a member of Alta Golf and Country Club and served as a Den Leader with the Cub Scouts for many years.
Becky loved many things in life but especially golf, the Huskers and family. Becky and Darrell spent many hours on the golf course with friends playing on leagues and in tournaments. She also enjoyed watching golf on TV, especially Tiger Woods, her favorite golfer. Becky was a die-hard Huskers fan, no matter if they were winning or losing. Her and Darrell went to many games over the years — Go Big Red! Most of all, she fiercely loved her family and cherished the time spent with them. Becky also enjoyed going to the casino, reading, playing cards and traveling to Puerto Rico, Baltimore and Arizona. She was known for affectionately calling people “sugar” no matter how well she knew them or not. Becky was referred to as “Nibby” by many people but most importantly her grandchildren. She loved the role of “Nibby” to May, Hudsen and Dawsen. Nibby will always be remembered for her spunky, fun-loving, caring nature and someone who showed genuine kindness to everyone she met.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son Ryan (Kristen) Pritchard of Alta; daughter-in-law Alison Pritchard of Baltimore, Md.; brother Rich (Sharalyn) Wells of Brunswick, Neb.; brother-in-law Jim Pritchard of Anthem, Ariz.; sister-in-law Candace Wells of Omaha, Neb.; sister-in-law Janice Pritchard of Omaha, Neb.; grandchildren: May Pritchard of Baltimore, Md.; Hudsen and Dawsen Pritchard of Alta; nieces and nephews; extended family and many friends.
