Michelle Leigh Weaver was brought into this world a few months early on Nov. 2, 1985, at just 2 lbs. 5 oz., to parents Mike and Nancy. She was baptized at Sacred Heart in Laurens and received confirmation at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Storm Lake.
Growing up the oldest of three children, Michelle attended school in Albert City and graduated from St. Mary’s in Storm Lake. After graduation she attended Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge for early childhood education.
She enjoyed being outside and participating in sports as she grew up. She spent her summers at the pool in Albert City, in the backyard and on the softball fields. She would often spend days traveling across the United States in her dad’s semi-truck when she was young or hanging with her mom at her in-home daycare. Michelle loved spending weekends at her grandparents’ homes running around and having fun.
Michelle was blessed with daughter Katie in 2007 and son Braden in 2009. Her children were her everything and allowed Michelle an opportunity to love and care without boundaries. Michelle met her life partner, Gavin, in 2016 by luck of a rental prospect. After the first meeting, Michelle took action (which is what she does best) and made the first move. From there, Gavin and Michelle began building a home for their three children.
Michelle was a hard worker with a hard as steel attitude. She loved harder than most and would extend a hand to anyone in need. She advocated for those without voices and pushed others to reach their full potential.
In her spare time, Michelle was gifted at woodworking and crafting. She enjoyed spending time with her kids and watching them in sports and extracurricular activities. She loved long motorcycle rides with Gavin and being with friends, watching dirt track racing, having bonfires, crawfish boils and going fishing. She loved her granddaughters and treasured spending time with them. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved Michelle.
Those left to cherish her life are her partner Gavin Pullen; children: Katie and Braden Reisner and Landyn Pullen; mother Nancy (Patrick) Degen; sister Cassie (Bear) Moeller; brother Michael (Alex) Weaver; grandchildren, Nevy and Layana Pullen; maternal grandfather Eugene Elsbecker; nieces and nephews: John and Fiona Moeller; Baylee, Coltyn and Cade Pullen (Stephen Pullen); Justin and TJ Lullmann (Jenna Lullmann); many aunts and uncles, dozens of cousins and friends wherever she went.
Michelle was preceded in death by her father Mike Weaver; paternal grandparents, Grace and Alvin (Tuck) Weaver; maternal grandmother Ruth Elsbecker; cousin Shannon Elsbecker; and uncle Donald McIntosh.
