Mabel Zeman, 98, of Storm Lake died Thursday, May 2, 2024, at Methodist Manor Retirement Community in Storm Lake.
Funeral services will take place Friday, May 10, at 10:30 a.m. at Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake. Burial will be in Buena Vista Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mabel Mary Hogrefe was born to John and Amanda (Gerke) Hogrefe on Nov. 3, 1925, in Buena Vista County. She was baptized on Nov. 29, 1925. and confirmed her faith at Zion Lutheran Church in Storm Lake on April 2, 1939. Mabel attended school at Zion Lutheran School.
On May 8, 1955, Mabel was united in marriage to Emery Zeman at Zion Lutheran Church. She worked at Buena Vista Regional Medical Center for many years. She enjoyed flowers, dancing and fishing. Mabel will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Mabel is survived by her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Emery; parents, John and Amanda (Gerke) Hogrefe; siblings: Edna Brummer, Hilda Brummer, Lilly Sievers, Emil Hogrefe and Elmer Hogrefe.
