Lorrie L. Marsh, 71, of Storm Lake, formerly of Chula Vista, Calif., passed away Monday, April 22, 2024, at UnityPoint Health-St. Luke’s of Sioux City.

A funeral service was held Monday, May 6, at Faith Bible Christian Outreach Center of Storm Lake, with Pastor Les DeRoos officiating. Burial was at Manning Cemetery. Nicklas D. Jensen Funeral Home of Holstein was in charge of the arrangements.

Lorrie Lea Marsh was born May 21, 1952, to Lee Roy and Shirley Jean (Mayberry) Marsh in Charter Oak. She graduated from Battle Creek High School then attended two years at the University of Iowa.

Lorrie moved to Chula Vista, Calif., and worked for the ARC. From there she was contracted by Sudexo Food services at the military base station. She worked in the Food Service Line retiring on July 20, 2022. After her retirement, she moved to Storm Lake.

Lorrie was a member of Faith Bible Christian Outreach Center in Storm Lake. Lorrie always loved animals. She helped to raise show dogs for a kennel in Pennsylvania and had her own show dog, a long-haired chihuahua named Magic, whom she raised and showed from a puppy. She loved horses too and was following the horses entered in the Kentucky Derby.

Lorrie was the historian of the family and did much research on both her mother’s and father’s family tree. She took DNA tests and with much research, she made contact with a family member who was not known to the family, resulting in a great reunion of all family members.

She is survived by her son, Hunter Marsh of Storm Lake; sisters, Shirleen Roach of Fridley, Minn.; and Sara Kreutz of Holstein; uncle Clifford Mayberry of Columbia, Mo.; and aunt Jean Morgan of Norwalk.

Lorrie was preceded in death by her parents, Lee Roy and Shirley Marsh; and grandparents,  Blanche May, John Mayberry and Sarah and Clarence Pete Marsh.
