Letter to the Editor: Love at first sight?  

The Storm Lake Times Pilot ran a story on March 22 with a “Fifty Years Ago” picture of the Jaycees presenting raincoats to the safety patrol members in 1974. 

It turns out two of the subjects in that photo went on to get married and are still together today (Kaye Appleseth and me, Daryl Wikstrom). Not only was it fun seeing the picture, but (given that we went to different elementary schools) that picture likely records the first time we ever laid eyes on each other! Thanks for the great memory.
