Kris Clouse, 63, of Sac City passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Loring Hospital in Sac City.

Kristie Lou Clouse was born on May 21, 1960, in Newton, to parents Theodore and Marcella “Sally” (Elliott) Clouse.

Kris and her family lived in Newton, Amarillo, Texas, Des Moines, Spirit Lake, Emmetsburg, Newell and finally in Truesdale. Kris worked at Genesis in Storm Lake for many years where she sorted pop cans. She was serious about her work and always looked forward to going.

After Kris’ father passed away, she and her mother would continue to live in Truesdale. Once Sally’s health started to decline she moved to Park View Rehabilitation Center in Sac City and Kris moved to the Howard Center group home.

Kris liked to go fishing and for many years collected Barbie dolls. She sat at her desk a lot working on word search puzzles. She also liked swimming and bowling and participated in Special Olympics in both activities, medaling in swimming. Kris was an Iowa Hawkeyes fan and adored Mickey Mouse.  She was a special person who brought smiles to so many faces throughout her lifetime. Rest assured she has joined her parents living in God’s beautiful paradise, where the Diet Coke never runs out and she is surrounded by all the things she loves.

Kris is survived by her sister Terry Gibson of Cherokee; and brother John (Rose) Clouse of Ruthven; nieces and nephews: Danielle (Will) Gast of Spirit Lake; Eric (Kori) Clouse of Milford; Matt (Shelly) White of Colorado; Josh (Miranda) White of Meriden; Christopher (Bobbie Jo) White of Colorado; Cara Beazley of Cherokee; and Lia White (Bobby Goetzki) of Sibley; several great-nieces and great-nephews; the staff/ ‘second family’ at the Howard Center; many extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Sally Clouse; and several aunts and uncles.

Private services are being held by the family. Farber & Otteman Funeral Home of Sac City has been entrusted to care for Kris and her family.
