Jane Morse, 67, of Newell passed away Sunday, July 30, 2023 at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, Aug. 5, at 11:30 a.m. at Bethel Baptist Church in Newell. Burial will follow the luncheon in Storm Lake Cemetery. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church. Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
Jane Louise (Orr) Morse, the daughter of Lauren and Mary (Hauschen) Orr, was born on April 17, 1956 in Emmetsburg. She was confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Emmetsburg in 1971. She received her education in Emmetsburg and graduated in 1975.
Jane was very devoted to her faith. She enjoyed going to Bible studies. Jane worked at various jobs: Pizza Hut, Joyce’s Grocery Store, Walmart and reception for a real estate office in Storm Lake.
Jane loved reading romantic novels and making scotcheroos. She enjoyed planting flowers in spring. She always looked forward to spending time with her family. Jane especially loved her nieces, nephews and their kids.
Jane was united in marriage to Lyle Morse at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Emmetsburg on Oct. 22, 1994. Lyle won Jane’s heart when he asked her for a kiss, but she told him no. But he kept asking until he won her over. Jane and Lyle settled down in Pocahontas. She worked for a daycare and then was a para educator in the Rolfe school. In 1996, they adopted Jessica. Jane, Lyle, and Jessica moved to Newell in 2006 where they purchased a home.
Jane passed away Sunday, July 30, 2023 at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge. She fought a courageous battle with cancer, maintaining a positive attitude and great strength throughout.
She was preceded in death by her mother in 1985; her younger sister, Barb in 2019; and her dad in 2020. Also, both grandparents, Miles and Elizabeth Orr and Roy and Francis Hauschen, and many aunts and uncles.
She is survived by her husband, Lyle and daughter, Jessica of Newell; sister, Ginger (Kenneth) Jensen of Ringsted; brother, Dave (Marylee) Orr of Emmetsburg; sister, Karen (Dave) Musselman of Newell; sister, Debbie Orr of Emmetsburg; brother, John Orr of Emmetsburg; nieces and nephews: Tharen Jensen of Ringsted; Angelina (Tony) Antelman and their children: Micah and Kassidy of Ankeny; Adam (Sierrah) Jensen and their child Kayleigh of Estherville; Jeff (Jamie) Orr and their children, Keller and Myer of Cedar Falls; Katie (Mitch) Axisa and their children, Lewis and Liam of Brookwater, Australia; Michael (Nancy) Musselman and their children: Uriel, Maddox and Avery of Sac City; as well as many relatives and friends.
