James M. Storck, 81, of Storm Lake died March 26, 2024 at his home.
A Celebration of Life will take place Wednesday, April 3, at 2:30 p.m. at Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake. Private burial will be held in Storm Lake Cemetery.
On April 5, 1942, James Manuel Storck was born to Dean and Nina (Hogan) Storck in Storm Lake. He attended school in Storm Lake, graduating from Storm Lake High School in 1960. James graduated from Buena Vista University in Storm Lake in 1964. After graduation, James worked as an art teacher in Armstrong from 1964 to 1976. He then moved to Sergeant Bluff, where he taught from 1977 until 1998. After retirement, James returned to his hometown of Storm Lake.
In his free time, James enjoyed genealogy, tracing his family ties back centuries. He was passionate about classic cars and was a member of the SERPACI Car Club. James will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Left to cherish James’s memory include his brother John Storck of Omaha, Neb.; niece Rebecca Barragan of Tucson, Ariz.; great-nephews: Josh and James Himebaugh; numerous cousins, extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Dean and Nina (Hogan) Storck; sister Nancy Newhouse; and niece Elizabeth Linville.
