Get ready for ‘The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee’

Quirky show to be held at SLMS auxiliary gym

Get ready for "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” presented by Storm Lake Area Performers of Tomorrow theater troop, or SLAPT. The show centers on a fictional spelling bee set in a geographically ambiguous Putnam Valley Middle School. Six quirky adolescents compete in the bee, run by three equally quirky grown-ups.

The production will take place in an unusual venue — Storm Lake Middle School auxiliary gym — which is totally appropriate for this show, says director Jarrod Roth. Musical director is Max Wallace.

Dates of the show are July 25-27, each show beginning at 7 p.m.
