Elizabeth Strock

Elizabeth “Ann” Strock, 85, of Storm Lake died Sunday, Aug. 4, 2024, at Methodist Manor in Storm Lake.

Funeral services will take place Saturday, Aug. 10, at 10:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Storm Lake. Burial will be in Storm Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, Aug. 9, from 6-8 p.m. at Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake.

Elizabeth Ann Strock was born Dec. 3, 1938, to Lyle and Mamie (Vauble) Schmidt in Storm Lake. She graduated from Nemaha School in 1956 and went on to attend Omaha School of Commerce, graduating in 1958. Most recently, Ann was a member of First Baptist Church in Storm Lake.

On Feb. 23, 1958, Ann was united in marriage to Roger Strock in Nemaha. To this union three children were born: Nancy, Julie and Scott.

Ann was a member of TOPS and was active at the senior center. In her free time, Elizabeth enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and attending church. She was often heard saying, "family is my life." She loved the outdoors, camping and going for walks. Ann will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her children: Nancy (Duane) Eiklenborg of Des Moines; Scott Strock of Storm Lake; brothers: Leroy Schmidt of Cherokee; Gary Schmidt of Rippey; Mark (Julie) Schmidt of Sac City; sister Jan (Jim) Curry of Des Moines; grandchildren: Kory (Jodi) Dean; Niki Anderson; Jeremy Wadsley; Amberlee (Michael) Rodriguez; Cassy (Jeremy) Struthers; great-grandchildren: Grace and Elise; Eligh, Malakai and Nova; Brooke and Bryce; Jake, Kati and Kendra; great-great grandchildren: Ben, Carter and Oliver; sister-in-law Karen Schmidt of Waverly; extended family and friends.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents Lyle and Mamie Schmidt; husband Roger Strock; daughter Julie Wadsley; brother Russell Schmidt; and sisters-in-law Charlotte Schmidt and Connie Schmidt.
