Donna Heilman, 87, of Storm Lake died Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2024 at Methodist Manor in Storm Lake.
Memorial Mass will take place Saturday, Aug. 24, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Storm Lake. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
Donna Mae Schulte was born Sept. 18, 1936, to Arley and Mildred (Stallman) Schulte in Fairfax. She grew up attending school in Blairstown.
In 1956, Donna was united in marriage to John Heilman in Watkins. They were blessed with two children, Deb and Mandy.
Donna loved to play cards. She enjoyed watching the Women’s National Basketball Association and the Iowa Hawkeyes. Donna could be found gazing at the moon and taking in the serenity of the lake. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Left to cherish Donna’s memory include her children: Deb Wodstrchill (Gary Novotny) of Atkins; Mandy (Ron) Stevenson of Storm Lake; sisters: Adeline Schmuecker of Blairstown; Darlene Ohler of Blairstown; grandchildren: Jasmine, Erin, Whitney, Evan and Jacob; great-grandchildren: Gunner, Ella, Emily and Finley; extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband John Heilman; and parents, Arley and Mildred Schulte.
