Dennis V. Anderson, 76, of Alta died Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at Avera McKenna Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D.
Memorial services will take place Friday, May 10, at 10 a.m. at United Methodist Church in Alta. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Alta. Visitation will take place Thursday, May 9, from 5-7 p.m. at Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Alta. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Rembrandt Fire Department at 116 W. Main St., Rembrandt, IA 50576.
Dennis Vernon Anderson was born April 8, 1948, to Bernell and Vernon Anderson in Storm Lake. He attended school in Rembrandt, graduating in 1967.
On July 3, 1980, Dennis was united in marriage to Vicki Lewis in Varina.
Dennis was a member of First United Methodist Church in Alta where he was a church board member. He served on the Rembrandt Fire Department as Fire Chief and EMT. Dennis enjoyed classic cars and was a member of the Serpaci Car Club. He was especially proud of his ’65 Malibu.
Farming was Dennis’s passion and he enjoyed attending farming auctions. In his free time, Dennis enjoyed fishing, camping and going boating. He looked forward to meeting his card club and going square dancing. More than anything, Dennis treasured time with his family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Dennis is survived by his children: Jeffry Anderson of Storm Lake; Michelle Sullivan of Renton, Wash.; Angelique Anderson of Alta; Amanda Kollasch of Alta; grandchildren: Graham, Hazel, Gus, Callahan, Evan, Ashlee, Alicia, Charlotte and Hailee; great-grandchildren, Boden and Konner.
He was preceded in death by his wife Vicki in 2022; and his parents, Vernon and Bernell Anderson.
