Cheua Lovan

Cheua Lovan, 85, of Storm Lake died Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at his residence.

Funeral services will take place Saturday, July 22, at 1 p.m. at Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Spencer. Visitation will be held Friday, July 21, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home in Storm Lake.

On June 1, 1938, Po Lovan and Ngom Lo Thi gave birth to a son, Cheua Lovan in Son La, Vietnam. Cheua grew to be an adult and was united in marriage to Ouy Lovan in Vientiane, Laos. The couple was blessed with seven children: Dewey, Manh, Choung, La, Phayvanh, Khai and Chansouk.

Cheua worked for Tyson Foods until his retirement on June 1, 2002. In his free time, Cheua enjoyed going for walks and spending time with his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Cheua will be greatly missed by his children: Manh Lovan of Storm Lake; Choung Lovan of Storm Lake; La (Leroy) White of Charles City; Khai Lovan of Minneapolis, Minn.; Chansouk (Scott) Miller of Clive; sister, Deuk Kamvanh of Des Moines; grandchildren: Cody Gerber of Perry; McKenzie White of Ames; Mason White of Charles City; Trevor White of Charles City; Sophie Miller of Clive; Margaret Miller of Clive; Mia Lovan of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla.; Matthew Lovan of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla.; Mariana Lovan of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla.; and many beloved nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Po Lovan and Ngom Lo Thi; wife, Ouy Lovan; sons, Dewey Lovan and SFC Phayvonh Lovan; and his brothers, Thiung Lovan and Yiung Lovan.
