Bruce Anderson, 84, of Spencer, formerly of Aurelia, died Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Cherokee Specialty Care.
There will be no visitation or services. A private family graveside service will take place at a later date at Elk Township Cemetery, rural Alta. Redig Funeral Home in Aurelia is in charge of arrangements.
Bruce Lynn Anderson, the son of Eugene and Berniece (Carpenter) Anderson, was born May 13, 1940 in Alta. He attended and graduated Fairview School north of Alta. In 1960 Bruce was united in marriage to Donna Louise Becker. To this union three children were born: Doug, Todd and Wendy.
Bruce enjoyed flying, having obtained his pilot’s license at the age of 14. Bruce enjoyed traveling, fishing, motorcycling, flying kites, playing the accordion and the organ. He was an inventor and generously made and gave away thousands of crosses and necklaces. No one had a better sense of humor than Bruce had. He was a farmer and then became district sales manager for Latham Seed until his retirement.
Bruce spent the winters in Texas and summers in Baudette, Minn., which he thought would end after his beloved wife Donna died Dec. 11, 2020.
Then his high school girl friend came back into his life. Alice Hinkeldey was Bruce’s partner the last several years, being by his side and setting vigil by his bedside. She truly was a blessing to Bruce and the Anderson family.
Preceding Bruce in death were his wife Donna; daughter Wendy; his parents; parents-in-law John and Helen (Robinson) Becker; brother Larry Anderson; sister and her husband Bonnie and Mel Carter; daughter-in-law Kristine Anderson; and granddaughter Sarah Monroe.
Left to cherish his memory are his two sons: Doug of Branson, Mo.; and Todd of Linn Grove. Also surviving are three grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; best friend and partner Alice Hinkeldey; sisters-in-law: Martha and her husband Paul Murry of Lake Creek; and Kaye and her husband Ron Harter; nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
