Bill Huseman, 79, formerly of Alta and Storm Lake, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Nov. 6 at his home in San Jacinto, Calif.
Robert William “Bill” Huseman was born on Nov. 22, 1942 in Alta, to Bob and Mickey Huseman. He was the eldest of seven children. Bill was baptized at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Alta and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Alta. He enjoyed life on the family farm south of Alta and loved reminiscing about it.
Bill graduated from Alta High School in 1961, where he played football, basketball and ran track. He was on the Cyclone yearbook staff, a member of FFA (judging team), Science Club and Lettermen’s Club. He earned a scholarship to Buena Vista University and attended for one year. He then moved to southern California and continued his education at Palomar College and graduated from UCLA-Redlands. He also lived in Nevada, Iowa and Arizona.
He is survived by his wife Irene of San Jacinto, Calif.; mother Mickey Huseman of Storm Lake; brothers: Tom Huseman of Branson, Mo.; Orin (Kathy) Huseman of Harrisonville, Mo.; Jim (Roxanne) Huseman of Rembrandt; David (Adriana) Huseman of Manor, Texas; and sister Gail (Roy) Weinstein of Houston, Texas. He was father to daughters De’Anna (Keli) Smith and Linda (Chris) Smith; and son Andre M. Huseman; grandfather to Amanda Smith, Austin Moseley, Ansley Moseley, Aliana Huseman and Andre E. Huseman; and great-grandfather to Hayden Smith, Charleigh Moseley and Blake Moseley.
He was preceded in death by his father Robert “Bob” Huseman; and brother Carroll Huseman.
