Barb was born on April 24, 1949, in Rolfe, to Wyman Sr. and Roberta (Weaver) Travis. Barb was baptized and confirmed at the Methodist Church. After Bruce and Barb’s wedding, Barb became a lifelong member of Grace Lutheran Church in Storm Lake.
She was raised on a farm in Gilmore City and attended Gilmore City Schools until junior high. Later, her family moved to a farm north of Storm Lake. Barb graduated from Albert City-Truesdale schools in 1967.
On Aug. 31, 1969, Barb was united in marriage to Bruce Kent Hoffman at Grace Lutheran Church in Storm Lake. Together they were blessed with four children: Christopher, Angela, Jason and Jenny.
Barb enjoyed helping Bruce farm for many years. She held a variety of employment outside the home. Barb was known for her work in wholesale food and product. Most recently, she managed the Des Moines Registry deliveries. She retired in August 2020.
In Barb's spare time, her favorite thing to do was enjoy the acreage, flowers and gardening. She was also an avid bowler. In the years past, she would spend many free nights and weekends bowling with the local league.
Without a doubt, the most precious thing she cared about was her grandchildren. She enjoyed camping with them and watching their activities. Barb loved family vacations, especially in Branson, Mo. She was very proud and loved her family more than anything. She will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.
