Anna Marie, the daughter of Art and Martha (Nordquist) Paulson, was born in Albert City June 3, 1936. Anna was baptized and confirmed at Evangelical Covenant Church in Albert City. She attended several schools before graduating from Albert City High School. Anna continued her education at Buena Vista College in Storm Lake, earning a teaching degree.

Anna was united in marriage to Paul Olson at Evangelical Covenant Church in Albert City Sept. 2, 1956. The couple was blessed with two sons, David and John.

In addition to being a mother and a wife, Anna taught middle school for many years at both Havelock and Pocahontas school districts. In addition to teaching, Anna also assisted husband Paul with his printing business ventures in both Albert City and Spirit Lake.

Anna suffered for many years with macular degeneration — a disease that robbed her of most vision, but not her passion for life. Anna’s favorite activities include cooking, Wednesday study club, quilting, crosswords and many activities at local churches. Anna attended Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Albert City.

Anna was preceded in death by husband Paul; brother Leonard; mother Martha and father Art.

In addition, she is survived by her niece, Mary (Paulson) Heudepohl, whom she and Paul cared for during a difficult time in her life. Mary is very appreciative of the love and support provided by them.

She was also survived by many other nieces and nephews and a host of friends and neighbors.
