Rose Sackett, 81, of Schaller passed away peacefully Dec. 8, 2023 at her home.

There will be no services at this time. Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.

Rose was born at home in Eden Valley, Minn. Rose was the daughter of Daniel and Mildred (Arens) Christle. She attended Meeker County Country School through grade school and later Eden Valley High School. Rose was baptized at the Forest City Catholic church. On April 23, 1960, Rose was united in marriage to Raymond (Ray) Fenton Sackett. Together they were blessed with three children: Allen, Richard (Rick) and Tammy.

Ray and Rose worked on the Sackett family farm in Minnesota briefly before moving to Newell. Rose worked as a seamstress sewing Levi jeans until their youngest daughter was born, when she left the workforce to stay home with the children. Ray and Rose last moved to Schaller when Ray got a job at Pyle Trucking. Rose worked at Consolidated Popcorn Company for a number of years. Once the children got older, they became owner operators of “Ray and Rose Sackett Trucking” and Rose joined Ray on the road for a few years under the CB Handle as “Mountain Dew” and him as “Flipper.”

Rose attended church almost every week for many years at the Schaller Catholic church until it closed. She later attended the Catholic church in Storm Lake until her passing.

After being on the road with Ray, Rose got a job at Casey’s in Storm Lake, her longest and by far favorite job. Rose loved working at Casey’s. She worked there for almost 25 years. She enjoyed all the customers and the employees she worked with. After working at Casey’s until her retirement, she worked at Sodexo-USA for a couple years. She enjoyed all the college kids as well until her health no longer allowed. After working at Sodexo-USA she enjoyed volunteering at the SOS as they needed her.

Rose enjoyed her grandchildren and going to their events and will be missed by many.

Those left to cherish her memory include children: Rick (Pam) Sackett of Schaller; Tammy Jeckell of Schaller; Donna Sackett (daughter-In-Law) of Schaller; sister Linda Christle of Dunedin, Fla.; grandchildren: Benjamin (Sarah) Sackett, Justin (Alyssa) Sackett, Emily (Zack) Martin, Shannon Meseck, Nick (Ashley) Sackett and Daniel (Morgan) Jeckell; step grandchildren, Thad Jeckell and Jesse (Erik) Wiese Schroeter; great-grandchildren: Keira and Oliver Sackett; Isabella, Dexter, Violette and Cyrus Meseck; Kayla and Sabrina Werneburg; Noah Martin; Lilly, Kade and Matt Sackett; great-great-grandchild Russell Ehrman; step great-grandchildren: Tristin and Keira Jeckell; Kylie, Alexa and Carter Wiese; extended family and many friends.
