Phyllis Francis, 95, of Storm Lake passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2023 at Accura Health of Aurelia.
Funeral services will take place Monday, Nov. 13, at 11 a.m. at United Methodist Church in Storm Lake. Burial will be in Buena Vista Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
Phyllis Mae Heschke was born Aug. 30, 1928 to Charles and Bessie Heschke in Truesdale. She lived on the farm until the age of seven. After graduating from Storm Lake High School, she was married to Ellis H. Francis in 1947. Phyllis worked as a nurse’s aide for 30 years, finishing her career at Methodist Manor after 22 years and retiring in 2002. Phyllis enjoyed traveling, especially with the Emerald Club and she visited all 50 states.
Phyllis is survived by her children: Marilyn (Rodney) Drake of Las Vegas, Nev.; Donna (Denny) Becker of Cedar Rapids; Larry (Linda) Francis of West Fargo, N.D.; Tom (Sherry) Francis of Waukee; Mark (Donna) Francis of Warrensburg, Mo.; 10 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; brothers: John, Robert, Darel and Kenneth Heschke and their spouses; and son-in-law, Pat Shaver.
