Joshua Justin Huseman, the son of Timothy Leon and Sheryl Ann (Huseman) Johnson, was born Oct. 4, 1984, in Pocahontas. He attended Newell schools. Joshua worked in construction doing roofing and siding. He enjoyed, drawing, hunting, fishing, music, building wood benches and birdhouses, reading his Bible and spending time talking with friends and family.
Joshua died on Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2023, in Newton. He was 39 years old. Joshua was preceded in death by his grandparents: Donald and Joann Huseman and Russell and Dorothy Johnson.
Those left to honor Joshua's memory include his fiancé, Amber Kepler; sons: John Neal, Cole Neal and Rylan Tosh; daughters, Harley Neal (Dillan Briggs) and Peyton Huseman; grandchildren, Bettylin Briggs and Dillan Briggs; parents, Tim and Sheryl Johnson; siblings: Becky Johnson (Danny DeWitt), Brent (Sam) Johnson, Nichole (John) Johnson, Kai (Sherry) Johnson and Mary (Bob) Bainbridge; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; and his in-laws, Tom and Linda Kepler and Mary Kay and Phil Reckler.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 12-4 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 6, at Newton American Legion. Memorials may be left in Joshua's memory (please make checks payable to Amber Kepler) and may be left at the Legion Hall or at Pence Reese Funeral Home.
