Irene Belcher, 71, of Storm Lake died Dec. 25, 2023 at Fonda Specialty Care.
Visitation will take place Friday, Jan. 26, from 3-6 p.m. with a prayer service at 4 p.m. at Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake.
Irene Kaye Belcher was born Aug.19, 1952 in Sac City, to Laurene and Ruth (Broich) Peters. She attended grade school in Lakeview, graduating in 1970. She attended the Methodist Church in Lakeview.
Irene was united in Marvin (Sonny) Rath. To this union two children were born, Hope and Sean. Later, she was united in marriage to Garry Belcher. To this union, two sons were born, Jake and Jason.
Irene worked as a cook for Lakeshore Café in Storm Lake and a chef at Faith, Hope & Charity in Storm Lake. In her free time, she enjoyed quilting, sewing, grandchildren’s ball games and traveling to see her family.
Left to cherish her memory include her mother Ruth Ann Peters of Lake View; children: Hope (Brian) Anderson of Fonda; Sean (Jennifer) Rath of Kindred, N.D.; Jake (Jenny Wentz) Belcher of Early; sister Sally (Kurt) Sorenson of Grimes; grandchildren: Val (Jon) Grundmeier; Brad Xander of Kindred, N.D.; Caaden Xander of Kindred, N.D.; Danica Xander of Kindred, N.D.; Brooke Belcher of Newell; Madison Belcher of Newell; Gavin Belcher of Newell; great-grandchildren: Harper, Joel and Charolette Grundmeier; Cooper Anderson; extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her spouse, Garry Belcher; and father, Lawrence Peters.
