Donna Johnson, 94, of Storm Lake died Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2024 at Methodist Manor Retirement Community in Storm Lake.
Funeral services will take place Monday, Feb. 19, at 11 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Alta. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Peterson. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
Donna Jean Johnson was born Nov. 30, 1929 to Jes and Leona (Monahan) Rohrbaugh in Peterson. She graduated from Peterson High School in 1947.
Donna was united in marriage to Norman Paul Johnson on Aug. 1, 1949 in Worthington, Minn. To this union, three children were born: Norma Jean, Gary Edwin and Darwin Paul.
In 1977, Donna moved off the farm to Storm Lake. She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Alta, where she taught Sunday School for over 25 years and was a member of Ladies Aid. In her free time, Donna loved to sew and complete crossword puzzles. She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution. Donna will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Donna is survived by her children: Norma Jean (Joseph) Wolfinger of Highlandville, Mo.; and Gary (Donna) Johnson of Springfield, Mo.; sister-in-law Barbara Rohrbaug of Peterson; grandchildren: Chelsey Johnson, Jeremy Johnson, Matthew Johnson, Dustin Dugan and Amy LeBrie; eight great-grandchildren; extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Norman Paul in 2006; son Darwin Johnson; and brothers: Robert Rohrbaugh, Richard Rohrbaugh and Ronald Rohrbaugh.
