Donna Bach

Donna Mae Bach passed from this life on Nov. 30, 2023 in Storm Lake, at the age of 95.

Funeral services will take place Monday, Dec. 4, at 11 a.m. at Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake. Private burial will be in Buena Vista Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Donna Mae Magnussen was born July 2, 1928 to John and Mabel (Marth) Magnussen in Ida County. She attended grade school in Larrabee and graduated from high school in Cherokee in 1945.

After her high school graduation, she became a telephone operator in Cherokee. After moving to Storm Lake, she worked part time at JC Penney then later at John Hancock Insurance Company.

She was married June 22, 1947 to Marvin C. Bach in Storm Lake. Her marriage to Marvin was blessed with three daughters: Linda, Kathleen and Barbara.

Donna was an active member of Church of New Beginnings in Storm Lake. Her faith was very important to her. A loving wife, devoted mother and grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family was her first priority. She treasured time spent with her family. Holidays and family gatherings held a special place in her heart.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband Marvin on Sept. 1, 2009; and her beloved daughters: Kathleen in September 2014 and Barbara in June 2015.

Her most profound heartache was the loss of her daughters, Kathy and Barbara. Also her brother, Milroy Magnussen; sisters-in-law, Colleen Magnussen and LaVerne Magnussen; brother-in-law Edgar Pearson; nephews, Randy Pearson and Michael Magnussen; extended family and friends.

Surviving her is daughter Linda (John) Racine of Spirit Lake; son-in-law Tom Henrich of Storm Lake; sister Emma Pearson of Everly; brother Donald (Ila) Magnussen of Primghar; four grandchildren: Tim (Sara) Racine, Amy (Ben) Brant, Christopher (Meghann) Henrich and Heather (Phil Smith); eight great-grandchildren; many other nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends.
