Dale Larsen

Dale F. Larsen, 85, of Rembrandt died Dec. 24, 2023 at Laurens Care Center. Funeral services will take place Friday, Dec. 29, at 2:30 p.m. at United Methodist Church in Alta. Burial will be in Scandinavian Cemetery in Alta. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Fratzke and Jensen Funeral Home in Alta is in charge of the arrangements. 

Dale was born on July 16, 1938 to Oscar and Fleta (Smith) Larsen in Elk Township, Alta. He attended school in Fairview and later Rembrandt. Dale attended United Methodist Church in Alta for many years.

Dale was united in marriage to Charlotte Nelson on Nov. 12, 1961 at United Methodist Church in Jackson, Minn. They were married 62 years, and blessed with three children: Kevin, Ken and Karen.

Dale worked on the farm for a number of years, and then later for Miller Farm and Drainage for 41 years. He enjoyed collecting old tractors, working with his hands and being outside. He looked forward to his drives with Charlotte. More than anything, Dale treasured his time with family. He loved attending his grandchildren’s events and visiting his friends and relatives. He brought great joy during the holidays when he dressed up like Santa. Dale will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Left to cherish his memory include his wife Charlotte Larsen; children: Ken (Diane) Larsen of Rembrandt; Karen (Mario) Villagomez of San Antonio, Texas; brother Alvin L. Larsen of Des Moines; sister Irma Jean Tyson of Cleveland, Ohio; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; extended family and friends.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Fleta (Smith) Larsen; son Kevin Larsen; sisters, Dorothy (Willard) Fjordbak and Lois (Arvid) Peterson; sister-in-law Janice Larsen; and brother-in-law Howard Tyson.
