On Jan. 27, 1983, Jeff and Lory (Preston) Krummen welcomed their first child, Ann Michelle Krummen, in Storm Lake. Ann was baptized and confirmed at Riverside Presbyterian Church in Linn Grove.
As a young child Ann enjoyed tagging along with Mom and Dad on the farm and spending time with her grandparents. She was involved in Girl Scouts, Awanas and a variety of different sports. Ann’s love for traveling started at a young age by taking annual family trips to Longville, Minn. to the family cabin. This remained one of Ann’s favorite places that she enjoyed taking her own children to. Ann also got to travel to Washington, D.C., Russia and Australia while she was in high school.
Ann’s greatest pride and joy was her family. She was blessed with Lola in August 2010. Only a few years later, Ann met her lifelong partner, Forrest Knoll. In 2016, their family was complete with Nason’s birth.
When Ann wasn’t busy with work or her children’s activities (which she loved), she enjoyed traveling. One of her favorite vacations was visiting Belize with Forrest. Fishing and days spent boating with close friends also ranked very high for her. Ann also loved playing cards, hosting friends and family, going to country music concerts and occasionally binge watching her favorite shows. Ann was very passionate about her community and was involved in a variety of activities including TTT, fair board and coaching Lola’s softball teams to name a few.
She graduated from Sioux Central High School in 2001 and briefly attended Buena Vista University to play volleyball. Shortly after, Ann moved out to Washington where she lived in a suburb of Seattle. This is where Ann’s love for the Seattle Seahawks began. In 2005, Ann moved back to Iowa and ended up in the Storm Lake area, and she started what ended up being a very successful career at Tyson. She worked there for over 17 years. While at Tyson, Ann completed her lifelong dream by earning her degree in nursing. This was a great accomplishment for her as she attended school and worked while raising a family. After becoming a nurse, Ann changed roles at Tyson where she would eventually end up in her final position there as Director of Safety. Ann spent a lot of time dedicated to her career and her work family was very special to her.
Ann’s family would like to thank everyone for all the prayers and acts of kindness this last year.
