Sioux Central began the game with a five-run first inning and ended it with an 11-run sixth as the Rebels defeated Manson Northwest Webster 20-4 in a Twin Lakes Conference game on Tuesday at Manson.
The Rebels plated one run in the third inning, two in the fourth and one in the fifth.
Sioux Central finished with 16 hits in the game. Preslie Peterson, Berkley Johannsen, Bradi Krager, Kendra Casey, Morgan Christian and Natalie Laursen all had two hits apiece. Johannsen homered and doubled while Casey doubled.
Halle Laursen, Brynn Webber, Rachael Livermore and Alivia Glover each had a single for the winners.
Johannsen drove in five runs while Krager and Christian each knocked in three. Casey and Natalie Laursen each added two RBI.
Webber, Johannsen, Casey and Krager all scored three runs apiece. Peterson and Halle Laursen each scored twice.
Webber was the winning pitcher. She allowed three hits and four runs, walked eight and struck out 13 in six innings.
“The girls were relaxed at the plate and had a lot of good at-bats,” Sioux Central coach Kasey Krager said. “It was a good way to start the week. Hopefully, we can build on the positives and find some momentum going forward. We had a nice start to the game with five runs in the first inning.”
