Ridge View participated in the Carroll Kuemper Tournament last Saturday and the Raptors came away with a pair of defeats.
The Raptors fell to Pocahontas Area 9-7. The team collected 10 hits in the game. Tracin Price and Cael Myrtue each had three singles to lead the way. Tyhler Kolpin doubled while Gavin Vohs, Blake Myrtue and Kinnick Jensen each singled.
Price, Myrtue, Vohs, Myrtue and Jensen each drove in a run. Kolpin, Price and Ethan Mason all scored two runs apiece.
Cael Myrtue took the loss. He allowed nine hits and nine runs, five of which were earned, walked four and struck out one in five innings.
Ridge View (11-10) was defeated by Spencer 11-0. The Tigers plated seven runs in the second inning to take control.
The Raptors were limited to two hits in the game. Price had a triple and Caden Biede a single.
Mason took the loss. He allowed nine hits and eight runs, walked one and struck out none in 51⁄3 innings.
“Another tough Saturday found us down and not able to make much of a comeback in game one,” Ridge View coach Eric Myrtue said. “Offensively, we just could not get anything going. Game two we saw a little more life in the offense, but we didn’t quite make enough plays to find the outcome we were looking for.”
