N-F boys take fourth at South Central Cal Relays

Bryan Brabec won the 800 meters and three other events placed second to help Newell-Fonda to a fourth-place finish in the Jim Yunek Relays last Thursday.

Southeast Valley won the meet with 132 points. Newell-Fonda scored 68. Storm Lake St. Mary’s was 11th with 2.

In the field events, Newell-Fonda’s Caden Meyer took fourth in the shot put with a throw of 40 feet, 11 inches. Newell-Fonda’s Carter Sievers was fourth in the long jump with a leap of 19-0. Newell-Fonda’s Caden Vanden Bosch took second in the high jump in 5-10.

Newell-Fonda finished second in the sprint medley relay with a time of 1:41.61.

St. Mary’s Brett Petersen took fifth in the 3,200 meters with a time of 12:11.1.

Newell-Fonda took fourth in the 4×800 relay with a time of 9:31.81 and the shuttle hurdle relay was third in 1:10.67.

Newell-Fonda’s Wyatt Kreft placed third in the 100 meters with a time of 11.41 seconds. The 4×200 relay was second in 1:34.3.

Brabec won the 800 meters with a time of 2:05.93 and was fourth in the 4:59.47. Newell-Fonda’s Max Carlson was third in the 400 meter hurdles in 1:00.74.
